WDYT of Marisol?

In Spanish, mar means "sea" and sol means "sun." So Marisol means "sea and sun." It's pronounced Mar-ee-sole in Spanish, But I'm guessing the English tongue would just say Mare-uh-saul.

Do you think a little girl that's not of Spanish/Latin descent can pull it off?

I think it's very pretty. I prefer the Spanish pronunciation because it's less like aerosol. I don't think a non-Hispanic child would have any problem pulling it off. She could always go by Mari (Mary) if she wasn't ready for the full name yet.

I also think Marisol makes a great middle name.

I grew up with a girl named Marisol. She was Hispanic and I think part Philippino (though not totally sure there) and an *amazing* artist... so I picture her when I hear this name. For me it would seem odd on a non-Hispanic girl because of this. I also picture someone arty.

I think it's a beautiful name. I prefer Maribel over Marisol for a non-Hispanic girl though.

I really love it, I think a nonspanish girl could pull it off.
