... the "Sir" sound. Can you think of any? I think I've mentioned before that I adore the name Suri but couldn't get myself to use it since it will be associated with the Cruise child for a long time. However, I can see myself naming a girl something that begins with that sound and then nicknaming her. There's only 2 I can think of so I was hoping for more:

Sorella- One of the girls in my 2006 PR just named her new baby this and I think it's cute, but I feel like it's "her name" since we've "known" eachother a long time.

Suriah- I really like it but it reminds me of psoriasis and I doubt I could get past that.

Why not just use Suri? Who cares if it's the Cruise's childs name. I think it's an adorable name! I love the name Shiloh and would use it if I ever had another daughter, even though it's Brad and Angelina's daughter.

Also want to add that the only name I can think of similar to Suri is Sorah.

Sariah is close enough to nickname Suri, but it's about the same as Suriah.

Circe (Sir-see) is a name from Greek Mythology.

The name Siri (seer-ee) sounds a lot like Suri, and I think it's super cute. It means "beautiful victory"

Oh I like Suraya a lot. Would Sariah remind anyone else of psoriasis or is that just something dumb my mind is doing?

If your brain is wacky, mine is too because Sariah makes me think psoriasis too.

I was hoping you would like Suraya. Such a pretty name.

How about Cerie? There is a characer on 30 Rock with that name. It's very close to Suri but it's less "Sir" and more "Ser"

I absolutely love Suri. I've had it on my list but can't get Jeremy to agree to it right now (it will happen though!) The way I see it is, i'm sure there are more little girls out there with the name besides Suri Cruise. Just like any other name. So if you love it, use it. I would!

Sariah is a figure in the Book of Mormon, so that's all I think about when I hear the name.

Huh. Maybe I will add Suri to my list. Doubt DH would go for it, but there are LOTS of names on my list that he wouldn't go for.
