Do you have any favorite names that are from the names of a city/country? Some are popular & some are pretty unique. Here are some that I have heard of others using:

Austin
Logan
Boston
Jordan
China
India
Brooklyn
Paris
Alabama
Britain

Does anyone else have any to throw into the mix?

If they are unique enough, I wouldn't mind using them!

Austin -- I do think its cute, but it's way too popular for me. It seems like over night this name came so popular lol.

Logan -- It's cute, but NMS

Boston -- It's Ok

Jordan -- Very cute, only for a Girl though.

China -- Nope!

India -- Nope!

Brooklyn -- Adorable, I've always loved it, even though I know it's not that unique.

Paris -- Cute, but NMS

Alabama -- Never

Britain -- I never liked it but I've seen kids named this, and it fits them well.

My nephews name is Trenton... but my sister didn't say "I really like the city Trenton, NJ so I'm going to name my son that." or anything of that sort... its just something she saw in the babyname book and loved it. His NM is Riley, which is a town a few miles south of where we live... but also has to ref. to the actual place.

I really like the name Aspen.

If you think about it, being in the US you can almost bet that if you randomly pic a name you will find a city or town or even state of the same.... some are just more popular and obvious : Alabama, Savannah, Dallas, Brooklyn, Austin, Phoenix, etc

Austin - I LOVE this name, we're having a girl but if it ends up being a boy, this will be his name, otherwise we'll use it for our 1st boy
Logan - This is a really good name,I like it and it's on my list as well
Boston - Not a fan of Boston
Jordan - Super cute for a girl, I like the spelling Jordyn
China - My friend's daughter is named China but spelled Chynna. I don't like it
India - Not a fan
Brooklyn - Super cute, I really like this one
Paris - NO...reminds me of Paris Hilton
Alabama - Not a fan
Britain - Not a fan

I know a little girl named Ireland, it's alright. I LOVE the name Georgia. And I've also heard of Asia.

There's also:

Montana
Cheyenne
Denver

My DH and I actually have Aspen on our possible names list. I wonder is that more a boy's name or a girl's?

Denver? Wow, I wouldn't think of using that as a name...that's pretty unique!

I forgot about some others like:
Georgia
Dakota (they call their kid Kody for short)
Sienna

I agree with the person who said just about every name you pick is likely a name from a place....but, I just wanted to hear some of them that people had actually used that might be a little different from the norm.

I also like the name Aspen & think it is more of girl's name IMO. The only thing is that I wish it didn't have the sound as (s) in it....that's the only negative part of the name. Altogether it is cute though!

Yeah, one of the contractor's that comes in here at work is named Denver, but I think most people call him Denny.

That's a good point about As(s)pen. I didn't even think about that! There's a lot of opportunity for teasing in school with that, so now I think I'm crossing it off my list LOL

My mother named my little sister Racine... She's 14 years younger than me, so I was 'a part' of the naming process.
Racie's dad is a motor sports enthusiast.... He wanted to name the baby Race N. if it was a boy - yep middle name "N"....

Racine's pretty - it had to grow on me, but I do love it now.
We call her Raci - it totally fits her personallity - she's my crazy Raci.

We found out later that it's a city in Wisconsin - and apparently (unbeknownst to us) my grandparents fell in love there!
(Grandad was a trucker and he took G'ma along on the trip.... )
