Do you tend to avoid or are you attracted to names that begin with certain letters?

I try to avoid or usually don't like names that begin with the letters A, B, J, K, Q, X, or Z.

I seem to like more names that start with the letters D, F, H, O, P, T, or V.

And for the sake of not repeating mine or DH's initials I also try to avoid M, B, G, or R names.

For girls I love the letters C & L

For Boys I love the letter D

I actively avoid all Z names because I don't like the way capital Zs look in cursive. Zahra was in my top 5 at one time but I couldn't get over that. Silly but oh well.

I can't see a clear pattern for girls. I do avoid names that end in 'a' because it sounds horrible with the last name. For boys, definitely have a thing for 'D' and 'S' names and I also like a lot of names that end in 'tt' and X.

I usually avoid names that start with R for both genders because they don't sound good with our last name. I avoid girl names that start with J because all of DH's ex-gf's had names that started with J

I guess my favorites are C, L, and J (they are my favorite to write out)

I stay away from B due to last name

I have no preference either way. If they repeat a letter, oh well. If they don't, oh well? I like what I like.

I don't worry about initials. In fact all my kids have initials that mean something, but we didn't do it on purpose!

ALS - Lou Gehrig's disease
RES - My DH's dad & grandpas initials
BJS - Bj's (for those with dirty minds)

I avoid W because most W names sound too rhymy with our last name that starts with a W.

I would only use another I or M name if it was an I name for a girl and a M name for a boy. But, even then, I try to avoid another I or M name.

I avoid all B names even though I like some of them because our last name starts with an O and I just can't do that to my child.

I most likely would not use another G or E name since my daughter is Gabriella but called Ella even though I love some of them (Elijah, Gavin).

I tend to be more influenced by the letter a name ends with that the first initial.

I have noticed that I don't seem to like many J or K names at all, though.

I tend to like A names a lot, for both genders.

I like a lot of C, M, S and V names for girls.

I like a lot of C, E, K, L, R and W names for boys.

Ditto. I really don't have a pattern, either . .
