I LOOOVE the name Makenna... but DH HATES it... he says it sounds boy-ish because the name Ken is in it.... (yeah, I know)

So, we agreed on Emily, but I still have to stop myself from calling her makenna (Because it just seems like its THE RIGHT name)

So, I was thinking maybe using these names

Emily Mae
Emily Makenna

or something else?

Sorry he won't go for the name you love I voted something else because Emily M___ repeats the M sound and when she writes her name using her middle initial Emily M. (last name) repeats the EM sound.

Are you reconsidering using R middle names?

Emily Ryanne
Emily Ryelle
Emily Raine

How many syllables does your last name have?

I love Emily Makenna a lot! But, I think it would depend on how it flows with your last name

I like Emily Mae the best, but always say never say never on a name you love until the baby arrives! Your DH might come around

I prefer Emily to MaKenna. I think Emily Mae flows the best; but I voted for Emily MaKenna because at least you'd get to use your favorite name as a mn (if Dh will not agree to using it for a fn).

Emily Makenna! If you love it that much, you should at least use it as a mn.

My last name has 3 syllables.
It sounds SO much nicer the other way around (Makenna Emily) but I tried convincing him again last night and he refused

I much prefer the name Makenna to Emily...less popular. Of the two choices that you offered I prefer Emily Makenna...that way you guys compromise and get names you both like.

I love the name: Emily Makenna
But, I would use maybe a more "girly" spelling of the name Makenna. I never liked that spelling.

I chose Emily Makenna. I think a compromise is appropriate! Plus I think Mae seems oldfashioned.

Personally, if you LOVE Makenna, and you compromised on a different first name, you should be allowed to use Makenna for the m/n!

I like Emily Makenna but I was wondering would either of you consider a different spelling of Makenna as a compromise?

I wouldn't even know how to spell it a different way.
He said to use it as the MN... but sometimes it sounds like it flows nicely, and other times it doesn't... idk. lol
With Kaden, I named him in the OR even after DH said he didn't like his name at all (Kaden River) he wasn't angry, but I feel like if I do it again, he will be lol or else I would.
