We are 98% sure we are naming our new son Hudson but we have no clue on mn's. My son is Blake Stratton, Stratton being DH's grandfathers' name. I would love a unique family name for Hudson's middle but I can't find anything.

Here are some options:
Ryan (DH's middle)
Peter (my dad and brother)
Gerard (my grandfather)
Hendrick (my great-grandfather)
Edward (my grandfather)
Sebastian (family name)

DH's most favorite name is Finn, so Hudson Finn is a major contender too. He also loves Atticus. I just don't know how I feel about not giving my son a family name when his brother has one, kwim?

Do any of these sound good? I am open to other names too!

I'm liking Hudson Hendrick too. It sounds pretty cool and I have never heard the name Hendrick before so it is a pretty unique name to me. When naming me and my brother and sister, my parents used family names on my brother and me for middle names but not my sister and it has never bothered her - probably because she had much nicer names than me or my bro!

I actually really love Hudson Gerard. I think it goes great w/ Blake Stratton. I also like that Stratton comes from your dh's grandfather and Gerard comes from your grandfather.

Hudson Edward, of course

I actually like the above, Hudson Sebastian, Hudson Ryan and Hudson Gerard. Any other family names you can think of?? Maybe your your's or Justin's mom's maiden name? Here are some non-family name suggestions:

Hudson Rhys
Hudson Levi
Hudson Ryne (similar to Ryan)
Hudson Gage

I like Gerard because of the grandfather significance, but I think the name Hendrick is awesome so that one is my second favorite! I think using a family name is a good idea since DS1 has one.

I totally get the feeling of wanting a family name for baby #2 when DS1 has one! I'm going to be in the same boat the next time around. I'd definitely stick with a family name since you have several great ones to choose from.

Hudson Gerard is my pick! Love it!!!

Hudson Hendrick, Hudson Atticus & Hudson Finn all sound great (even considering his brothers name, Blake Stratton!). What are your thoughts on the feedback so far? Love the name!

Honestly I'm even more confused.

I like Gerard because I was super close to my grandfather, he actually lived with my parents until he died when I was pregnant with my son. So for that reason I love the name.
If I weren't considering family names I like Atticus and Finn.

I emailed my hubby the list of names so I'm anxious to see what he thinks. Thanks girls!
