I've been driving myself nuts trying to think of unique baby boy names. I've looked @ websites but their idea of unique names is beyond what I'm looking for. Lol.

Help please?

All I've got so far is:

Skyler
Jasper

and for my not so unique choice:

Tyler
Cameron

I don't want my baby to have a name like everyone else. I hated being one of 100 Jessica's in my school.

Hi

You seem to want a name that is unusual but not totaly unknown. Skylar and Jasper are in the 300-600 range on the Social Security list, and most names in that range would fit your criteria. People have heard of these names, but you won't be running into them every day at the playground

Some other names in that range you might like

Dean
Bennett
Julius
Quentin
Desmond
Orlando
Matteo
Orion
Enzo

Here is the full list. You will probably find a lot more you like on here. Like I said above, the names in the 300 -600 range seem to fit your requirements. Good luck!

Popular baby names

You will have to choose Top 1000 from the drop down list.

Greyson
Duncan
Cullen
Sheldon
Sebastien
Oliver

I'm partial to Duncan and Greyson (one of Henry's middle names). I love Oliver and was going to suggest Quinn, but I see it may be in use already?

All of those names are common. I've never heard of anyone named Skyler. I think thats what I'm going for, and I actually like that spelling better, so Skylar.

Hmmm.. Skylar is more common than any of the names I suggested. #261 I think. Anyway.. if you like Skylar the best then it's a fine name, go for it. I was just trying to give you some more options and another place to look since you said you were driving yourself nuts. Good luck!

Well I guess it depends on where you live. I'm not looking for popular names.
You showed me popular ones. Lol.

Skylar isn't popular at all, at least not in Florida.

But I def. appreciate the help.

Yep I'm in Florida. Anywho.. that link .. you have to scroll down and choose popularity: top 1000. The first list on the page is top 20, so yes those are popular, but nothing past 300 or so is popular at all. I couldn't figure out how to make it default to the top 1000, so that is why I pointed you to the general page.

Why don't you check your state on the SS name listings to prove to yourself that Skylar and Skyler are popular baby names. Even if you don't personally know any, that doesn't mean it's not a popular name. Jasper made one of the biggest jumps in popularity in 2009

We have quite a few girl Skylar's around here. As a fellow Jessica I'd say skip Tyler.
I liked the suggestions of Bennett and Desmond and Becket.

My step-son's name is Skyler and he complains that there are others in his school, mostly girls He's older though. I wanted uncommon names too and I agree, the SSA list by state is really helpful. Good luck!
