When thinking of names for my DD, it never crossed my mind to think of how the name would go with my DS's name.

How big of a deal do you think it is that the names "go" together? Just curious.....

For us it was important but I like matchy matchy so.....
If it's not something that bothers you I wouldn't worry about it.
BUT I will say we had some friends who named their ds Spider and then named their dd Samantha and I always that it was odd they went with something so 'out there' for one and so 'normal' for the other.

Spider? Wow...that's...different lol.

I figure with my DS's name, not much doesn't "go" with it. Idk....I don't even think about it.

It's not really that important to me. I don't think I'd go as far as to name one child something totally off-the-wall and then give another a really classic name, but to each their own.

And I totally agree with you! Xavier is a great name and I don't really think you will have a problem with whatever you decide.

I've noticed that a lot of people (well most that aren't name fanatics like many of us here ) don't really put a lot of thought into how well their children's names flow....but when they become part of the BN forum they start to notice it a little more.

That being said, it's very important to me that my children's names go well together. They will not be matchy matchy or even start with the same letter....they just have to flow together....be of similar style.

It doesn't really matter to me. I tend to like a similiar style of name so I think by default they'll have kind of the same feel to them. I wouldn't think it was strange meeting a Jake and a Sutton or a Peyton (girl) and Isabella.

I wish it didn't matter to me but it does. I actually envy those that don't think twice about it.

I don't really worry about if the names "go" together. I just feel like I like the same style names for girls (feminine, longer names that end in -a, sort of traditional) so they just go together even though I'm not TRYING to make them match.

And I agree that Xavier sounds good with a lot of types of names!

It is important to me. But a lot of people don't even sweat it!

I totally do not think that Brinlee and Isabel "go" together. But they were two names I loved, and that's what was important to me.

People's naming style can change over the years (or months, or days... LOL) so I don't think it's necessarily important that the names "go" together as in be the same style.

Its personal. Its not the biggest thing to me if they don't but I wouldn't call my next one say Joshua, even though I like it, I don't think it goes
