Hey! This is my first post in this area!

Me and my husband are expecting our first baby in Feb, we are very early yet but we need boy name help so bad!

We have been talking about names since we started dating 5 years ago and have had the name Temperance Honor picked out for a girl since, we originally had Cash picked out for a boy but we feel like it is getting too popular so would love some new ideas, we have also thought about Bronson, Callan, Calvin, Jacoby, Reid & Rex just to get a feel for our style.

As you can see, we don't like popular names at all.

Thanks!

Temperance Honor is pretty and very different! What would you call her though? Just curious....

As fas as boys names, a few I can suggest are Knox, Axel, Bastian, Memphis. Those are some of my faves

Thanks for the suggestions, I love Knox but since a celeb used it I am worried about it gaining in popularity, Axel and Memphis are awesome though and are added to the list, thanks!

She'd mostly just be Temperance but we'd occasionally call her Tempy I think.

Reid is the current front runner for bot names for me. Have you tried Nymbler - Your Personal Baby Name Assistant?? You can type in those names you like and get suggestions based on them!

I like the name Jacoby the best off of your list. Others with a similar "feel" to the names on your list:

Felix
Everett
Hudson
Blaise
Jude
Calum/Kalem
Ronan
Blake
Brody
Blair

I only like Jacoby and Reid from your list. I feel like your boy names are totally not the same style/feel of the girl name you picked out.

Just a side note about Jacoby....

It's getting popular. I have 2 ladies in my DDC who are using it and I've seen it in a few PR's. Just thought I would mention it since popularity is a factor for you.

I have such a hard time with boys' names. I can rattle of like 20 girls names that I love, but I can never think of a boy's name. Dh and I agree on 1 and that's it! So I'm not so much help to you I do like Knox though! I have a friend who has a dog names Cash, so I associate that name with him. He is a pretty awesome dog!

Hi and welcome I have Callen (this spelling) and Reed/Reid on my list as well...I also really like Bronson. Reed/Reid is our top name right now for a future son but, like you, I do not like names that are popular and I've heard a lot of ladies considering Reed/Reid lately

Some other suggestions:

Sutton
Lex
Dash
Blaine
Blair
Briar
Cove
Killian
Fox
Stone
Jett
Maverick
Phoenix
Zeus
Zephyr

My son's name is Jacoby and we get sooo many compliments on it. Obviously that's my fave from your list. One note about it's popularity: It did get a rise in 2007 and 2008 but in 2009 it actually dropped 20 slots or so. And it's never been higher than the 400s on the SSA list.

Here's the populatiry of your boys names

Bronson 897
Callan not in top 1000
Calvin 231
Jacoby 444
Reid 348
Rex 752
Good luck!

Thanks everyone.

I am really liking the suggestions of Sutton, Dash, Blaine, Cove, Killian, Fox, Stone, Jett, Maverick, Phoenix and Zephyr.

I am also loving Ignatius too, I think I need to make a poll.
