Little history with our names we already have: Avis Elizabeth= named after my awesome Grandma Avis, and my MIL Beth (Elizabeth).

Violette JoAnn= My husbands G-ma, and my mom's first name

Sarah= the name that DH's mom was going to use had her sons been girls.

So we settled on Sarah Grace shortly after we found out we were expecting a little girl. Mostly because I didnt want to deal with all the naming stuff again...and because I was having a really hard time thinking of another girl name because I TOTALLY screwed myself by naming the first two COMPLETELY after family members....ugh. Pressure!

Well...I am weird about names and for some reason I can only picture a fair haired girl like Violette when I hear the name Sarah Grace. I also see this REALLY annoying girl I went to college with...lol

So I told Brian my qualms about the name and we settled on this agreement:

If the baby is born looking fair like Violette did (it was obvious she was gonna have light hair) her name will be Sarah Grace. Well...or if she looks more like one name over the other too....

If the baby is born with dark hair like Avis was then her name will be one we decide as our backup name. We have a top name right now...but I dont want to settle yet

I could totally look at Violettes pictures and think: Sarah Grace.... but I look at Avis' pic and I just dont think it fits!

So what names do you think of an associate a dark haired girl? lol

ETA: I LOVE names like Charlotte, Grace, Madeline (but only when its pronounced Mad-ugh-line (not lynn)...cant really use Charlotte because my ex best-friend named her daughter Charlotte about a year ago...and we still see each other all the time. (one of those been besties since childhood so we cant escape each other...), and DH hates the name Grace as a first name.

Also...not a fan of Natalie. It reminds me of a goat (everyone always suggests this name to me for some reason, so I thought i would save you time )

Glad I'm not the only one that can't see certain names on children with different colored hair! See this baby, could have dark hair like myself, or blonde hair like her dad. So I'm having the same dilemma now...but most people just think I'm mad and a name is a name.
