I love this name, but I thought it was pretty popular right now. When I look online though, it is ranked pretty low on the list (#866 in US births). Thoughts?

You ladies are my experts.

Wow, I would have guessed it was much higher in the rankings! It is one of the few really contemporary girls names that I really like!

The site I found said it peaked in 2007, but then dropped dramatically. Hmm

I love, love, love the name! Unfortunately, my best friend beat me to having a girl and named her Addisyn. She didn't know it was a name I liked so it was a total coincidence. Needless to say, I won't use Addisyn now, but I still love it!

I love this name (also like it on a boy). It's a bit of a GP of mine and I love seeing other people using it.

V surprised it's so low in the rankings, perhaps with the Addyson, Addisyn etc spellings combined it'd be a lot higher. Or perhaps it's just board popular.

I think Madison is far popular, so we feel like Addison is popular, when it isn't.

It's actually #12 on the female list It's one of the trendier/unisex names that I like.

Do you have a link? I'm trying to find a reliable site. I guess some of them are incorrect. Thanks!

The Social Security Administration website is the most accurate as to the number of babies born in the US with that name. It was #12 for 2008 and 2009. The other websites are usually just rankings on how much its users like a name and/or used a name.

Popular baby names

And, I like the name Addison for a girl!

yep....I always refer to the social security website as it's the most accurate. The # you had wasn't incorrect...it was just on the boy's list...the name is much more popular with girls.
