Dayna.

What do you think of this spelling? What do you think of the name Dayna (Dana) in general?

It's nms. I think Dana looks better then Dayna. It seems like the y is just thrown in there.

I think Dana is dated.

It's nms. I like it spelled Dayna more than Dana. Dana seems too plain to me.

Both spellings are fine by me, but the name feels extremely dated.

You will spend hours on the phone trying to change documents with her name on them, and then when she grows up, she'll be the one wasting time to change documents. Dana is very nice and traditional (which I know is so five years ago ), and I've known plenty of Dana's that make me like the name even though it isn't my style.

As a person with an oddly spelled name, I can say that it never adversely effected my life. This spelling doesn't please me as much as the traditional name, but I'm sure that Dayna will not have her life ruined by not being Dana. There were never 'hours' spent trying to correct paperwork, not even if you were to add that time up from all across my life. I've needed to correct my name once in the past 15 years. People get my (totally normal) last name wrong way more than my first. A 2 second phone call always takes care of it.

So sayeth the Nicolle, so sayeth the experienced one.

ETA: Dayna/Dana MUST hang out with little Fox.

I PREFER the Dayna spelling, because over here, Dana is pronounced Dahn-a, so for me, Dayna IS the name that is pronounced Day-na...

as for the name in general, nms
