I just found out today that I'm having a boy and am really digging the name Fox (middle name Madden) wdyt?

It's sort of a family name but that's not really why I want to use it. My DD & DS also have three letter names.

So, thumbs up or thumbs down?

Fox does fit your sibset very nicely.

I love the name but prefer it as a mn though. I think it's one of those names that could either make a kid or break a kid, if you know what I mean? Like Dexter is super-hot on Michael C. Hall's character (Showtime's Dexter), but Dexter could come across as super geeky on most boys/men.

I actually don't really care for it with your sibset... Ava and Eli are so much more classic than Fox, which to me is much trendier. I like Fox better as a mn than a fn. Sorry

I think Ava & Eli are both so classic and sound gorgeous together Fox is okay but not my favorite. I think Max would go better with your sibset.

I agree with a few of the other ladies. Eli and Fox do not go well as sib set names...Ava and Eli are classic, Fox is trendy.

I do like Fox but I think its a hard name to pull off.

Agreed. (Fox is a bit more unique than Ava and Eli....) Max or Leo fits nicely

I might be biased because my lil man's name is Fox but I LOVE it!!!! By the time he is a toddler the shock of "omg you named your kid fox" will have worn off and people will replace the shock with admiration for naming your child something bold. People used to give me guff when he was an infant but now that hes three and running around, they love it and say its really cool. I say go for it. It goes well with your sib set and its unique and powerful. One of the most powerful names in America. Everything is Fox. Lol. Then again, like I said I might just be biased. Lol.

Fox is kind of cute, but I associate the Fox network with sports (and bad news), so having a 'sports' name like Madden paired with it is overkill for me.

If I heard the name in real life, I'd probably snarkily think "Whoa, someone's a huge Monday Night Football fan" but would still say Fox was a cute name.

Please don't name your child something merely to have him match his siblings. It's instantly saying 'you don't have your own identity' to the youngest child when you do that. Unless you LOVELOVELOVE Fox in a vacuum, you're making a huge mistake.

It's like how you can tell that the Duggar family eventually ran out of steam with all of those J names. People are individuals, and to define your youngest as merely one of a set is very much Borg naming. I think Fox deserves a name his parents love, not that they are settling for.

That said, I didn't know your first 2 kids' names, and I totally called it that they would be Ava and Eli. I could smell it from a mile away.

Unless Fox is The Perfect Name, don't use it. It takes brass cojones and a lot of conviction to name a kid something off the beaten path, and if you aren't 100% behind it, you will be miserable and second guess yourself every time someone says 'Fox? Are you serious?'

It makes me think of Fox Mulder from the X-Files, but Fox Madden is actually kinda cool. Thumbs up.
