SO really likes Persephone for a girl. I'm not quite sold on it but I told him if I could figure out a good nickname for it that we could call her...then it could possibly go on the list.
Any suggestions for nn for Persephone?
Any other mythical name suggestions for a girl or a boy?
TIA for your help!
ETA: I don't know the origin of Seraphina, but I threw that one out there as a suggestion. I consider it to be kinda "out there" as far as names go, but I figured if he liked Persephone, he might like Seraphina, and he does! I'm having a nn issue with that one as well because I think people would want to call her Sera and my oldest DD's name is Kara (Care-ah), and I don't want them to have rhyming names...any help with that one would be appreciated as well!
Formerly known as "mommynina"
Thank you Jaidynsmum for my beautiful siggy!

I like Seraphina - could you use NINA as a nickname? Do you go by Nina?
Persephone is a little too 'out there' for me. It really stands out next to your other children's names.
What about Evangeline or Penelope? Nicknames could be Eva or Poppy, Penny?
Oooh I didn't even think of Nina! lol I used to go by Nina, years ago, when I was a live-in nanny for a certain family. That particular family knew atleast 3 Christinas that were all very good family friends or former nannies...so to make it less confusing for their young children, they had nicknames for all of us Tia, Chris, Nina (me). Nobody else calls me that, so it could definitely be a nickname. Thanks for the suggestions ladies!
Another one I thought of was Finn (If I used the spelling Serafina). WDYT?
I also LOVE Evangeline. I've brought it to SO's attention and I think he likes it too. Penelope is nice too!
Medea is from Greek mythology, but with pretty negative connotations. Without going into the whole story, she was an enchantress who killed her children when her husband left her for another woman. Not a name I would use.
Seraphina is lovely! I prefer it spelled Serafina, but that's just me. I think Nina is a great nn--and Kara and Nina go really well together, IMO.
