Hello name board ladies! I'm hoping you might help me out a bit with a name.

Lulu

What are your honest thoughts? Do you think it fits with my DD's name? Can you suggest a full name for Lulu? We like this name, but aren't 100% on the full version. We feel like we're overlooking something. So far we have the list...

Lucy
Luella
Louisa
Lucille

Like I said, nothing feels right yet. Hmmm...

In truth the name Lulu is quite flimsy and she may be relegated to a job involving extra fries or a pole.

Lucy - Lucy is a nn already, she might like the option of going by Lucy or Lucille. On the other hand a nn for Lucy would be "Luce" which brings me back to the pole...
Luella - This makes me think of Louella Parsons (the old Hollywood gossip columnist)
Louisa - Very pretty and goes well with your daughter's name
Lucille - This is a GP for me because of Lucille Ball. It's very pretty, but if I ever used it, it would be as a middle name.

When I said "honest thoughts" I guess I didn't quite mean rude thoughts. It's one thing to say nms, or nmsaa, but to degrade a name to a fast food industry worker, or stripper... umm.. that's a whole other thing. Not to mention I have a very good friend named Lucy, who has nothing to do with the pole. So yeah... thanks, but no thanks.

I didn't even make that connection! Awesome! I admit I never really played that game myself, more or less just took a turn playing it at a friends place. If we decided to go this name route, for sure we'd need to invest in the game. I still have my copies of Kingdom Hearts.

I was called Lulu for the first 12 years of my life! After that, I rebelled, and insisted on the full Leona.

So hey, if you want to name a kid after me!

Lulu is cute but I would definitely use it a nn for a full name. Of the names you listed I like Lucy best and I like it with Kairi. I also like the Lorelei suggestion.

Louise
Lourdes
Luna
Luzette
Lucinda
Eloise
Tallulah- I think this works wonderfully!

I like it because it's already kind of got the "loooo" in it. IDK it just pops out more to me than the others.. and she can go by her full name later if she wants to. I think Lulu is adorable.

And fwiw, when I named my 1st DD Chloe I got comments about it being a 'stripper' name & now its a very popular name among baby girls. I think its more about how you raise them than about what you name them.

I agree that this was an extremely rude comment, and I'm sorry for that. I LOVE Lulu as a nn, but agree with some of the other posters that have said it would be nice to have a longer name that might age better. I think Tallulah is adorable, even though it is out there enough that I would probably never be brave enough to use it My ABSOLUTE favorites for a nn of Lulu would be:

Lucia
Luciana

It could also be used with Laurel
