I last heard it on a baby girl. That, for me, is always the first sign that the name is dated for a boy.
I like a lot of the traditionally gender neutral names, but it seems like the second a name that has been boy-only gets stale, the girls start stealing it. Travis could end up like Mackenzie. My poor brother gets told all the time "I've never heard that name on a boy before!"

I do think it's somewhat dated but I have a softspot for it as I know a little miracle named Travis so I can still appreciate the name.

I don't really think its outdated. I know both babies and adults named Travis.

I think its a little dated, I grew up with a classroom full of Travis & Tyler's but I think its not overly dusty yet.. I think if you use it as a MN for your son it'd be perfectly fine.
