I love it, honestly. It has a precious feel on a child, but very sophisticated and elegant on an adult. It makes a lovely middle name as well.

Frances is okay, but the name I absolutely love is Francesca. I would use it in a heartbeat if it didn't sound so terrible with our last name!

Love it a lot. Would absolutely consider it for a daughter. Would consider Francis for a son, but like the idea of Frances on a daughter better.

I agree completely.

I don't really get the 'frumpy' association it has to some people. I've never met an old or frumpy Frances. It's also been used by a few celebrities, I think.

I like Francesca too.

It's NMSAA, and it's DH's aunt's name. She goes by Mona though.
