Have you ever given a pet a name and then later on down the road wished you wouldn't have named your pet that specific name because you would love to use it on a child?

This hasn't ever happened to me. My dog's names have been: Skipper, Ziggy, McKenzie, Harley

My DH did suggest using the name Anabelle on a child, but its my sister's SILs dog's name.... so I just can't do that!!!

We have never named our pet something that we would use but my parents named their dog Brandi and then wished they hadn't because the would have given me that name.

You know ... I have a cat named Chloe and if it weren't my cats name .. I'd probably consider it for a kid

Sort of.. I have a cat named Callie, and the name is growing on me. I don't think I'll ever use it for a first name, but possibly a mn. I don't really like "people names" on animals.. I prefer names like Bear, Scruffy, etc.. (those are my two dogs )

My next door neighbor growing up had a big Great Dane named Duke. He loved that dog so much that years later after the dog had passed and he had a son, he named his son Duke

Haha... this is actually exactly what happened to DH and I. We've got a cat named Nami (she's almost a year old) and DH really wanted to name our daughter that. (It means wave in Japanese - think Tsunami - nami is the part that means wave). Anyways, he pushed and pushed for it and kept insisting that we could just rename the cat. lol. But I just COULDN'T do it. Plus the cat knows her name. She comes to it and everything... I couldn't imagine renaming the cat, and couldn't live with naming our little girl the same thing as the cat. hehe...
