Yes, Madison is actually a boy name but is now better known as a girl name. My grandfather's name is Joseph Madison and its where we got my daughter's middle name from.

I like a lot of boy names on (girls):

Ryan (Ryan, Ryen or Ryann)
Tallen (Talynn)
Landon (Landen, Landyn)
Parker
Camden (Kamden, Kamdyn)
Jackson (Jacksen)
Emerson (Emersyn)

there could be more but those are just the ones I though of off the top of my head

Argh. It's one of my pet peeves, seeing girls with boys names and vice versa. Kind of like people who call their daughters, Tristan! How the bloody hell does that work?! Tristan is so obviousely a boys name, it's historically a boys name... Why would you even think of calling a girl that?! LOL

I'm all for being different and unique, but that just seems a bit cruel to me. The number of times I've referred to boys as girls or girls as boys because their parents had given them a name that's meant for the opposite gender.... Always makes me feel bad for the kids.

Love,

Sarah-Jean

names like Courtney, Stacey, Ashley, Kelly, Carey etc were all boys names at one point! Now you would rarely meet a boy named Stacey! I do know more boys who are named Courtney then girls though.

I actually do know a guy named Stacy! He's an idiot though so I wouldnt use that as an example....
Well I think you can guess where I stand on this one! I say no, no way, not under any circumstances....It's one of my pet peeves. I think a girls name should be soft and pretty...I would only make an exeption in the case of names that are traditionally masculine in orgin but sound very feminine and are more commonly used for girls, like the names that you mentioned.

I just had to post here - thought it was funny. I am due any day and our daughter will be named:

Charleigh Julia (pronouned Charlie)

We get some mixed reactions, but I don't care. This is our kid and we will name her what we like- that's the beauty of it. Anyone can name their child what they like. Most people like the spelling though.

Anyway, it never bothers me when people don't agree with the name because they don't have to!!

I have had an unusual name my whole life - always have to spell and pronounce it and I survived!!!
