Hey ladies,

I lurk quite a bit but I'm often a little scared to step in because I have such unique taste in names and I do get emotionally attached to names. I'm due with my third in September and we just found out yesterday we're having another girl. DH and I don't agree on ANY names, except for one. We were going to use the name for a boy definitely and have tossed around using it for a girl. DH is dead set on using it for a girl more so than he was for a boy and I was the opposite. I don't mind it for a girl but I'm still exploring my options. I've looked at thousands of names and none have really stuck out at me, or the ones that do, DH has vetoed. I'm open to using the name DH loves for a middle name, and if we can find a more feminine middle name I will use it for a first name. My kids now are Phoenix Madeline and Lincoln Fox. I am trying to keep an "x" somewhere in this kid's name too, either first or middle name. I'm also looking for a girl's name that doesn't end in a "ee" sound (ie Kelly, Avery, Haley etc etc) or end in a "a" sound (Christina, Olivia, etc). I want to name our baby asap as I feel it will help me bond with her while she's in utero, calling her by name. Anyways the name DH loves (don't hate lol) is Hendrix. Hendrix is a derivative of Hendrik which is a Dutch name, and I'm very Dutch so I like that part but I still see it more for a boys name BUT that being said Phoenix is often a boys name and I've used it for a girl. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been losing my mind over this.

Hi there! For some reason the name London/Londyn came into my head with your other kids' names. (Maybe because Pheonix and Lincoln are places too? IDK ) So what about Londyn Hendrix? I think you could use Hendrix as a middle name but I do like it as a first name for a boy a little bit better.

Hi Laurel I think Hendrix is adorable for a little boy, but have a harder time imagining it for a little girl. I think I would like Hendrix in the mn slot best if you used it on a girl. Just my personal opinion Here's some all over the board names that meet your no ending ee or a criteria... like I said, I was trying to give you several different styles of names in the list!

Adeline
Philomene
Anice
Elenore
Beatrix
Simone
Reese
Coraline
Anais (uh-nye-iss)
Skylar
Wren
Mariel
Willow
Juniper

I automatically think of Harlow or Harper as a name to go with your other two...

Trying to think of X names now - not so many out there for a girl! I have always liked the name Xanthea (Zan-thee-a), but I'm not sure if that's the type of X you want (ie it doesn't have an X sound)

Alex
Beatrix
Bronx
Kendrix
Lex

what about Alexis?

yea, I'm no help

Thanks ladies! I also prefer Hendrix for a boy. I'm trying to find an alternative for a first name that works with Hendrix for a middle name.

I really like Willow, but our last name is Smith and I guess Will Smith named his daughter Willow. Would that be weird? DH thinks so.

With Willow Smith becoming more popular as a singer/actress, it is probably best to avoid that name

Hmmm.. When I think of feminine names, I usually think of names ending in A. If you want to avoid A and EE endings, I think a feminine name could be one ending in Lyn or Anne

Adalyn Hendrix
Jocelyn Hendrix
Julianne Hendrix

Also maybe
Ariel Hendrix
Allison Hendrix

Yeah, we've passed on Willow completely, which sucks. Thanks for the suggestions ladies. We're looking at a couple names now, and I'm not sure what I think of them. DH has very strong opinions so I'll put a * beside his choices.

Arwen
Maren/Marin (not sure on spelling)
Fallon*
Oakley* (which does go against my rule, BUT I don't mind it)

Christen, Lockley is really cute, and I don't mind the "ee" sound at the end of it. I'll run it by DH.

Ahhhh I love Fallon Hendrix. I envision her a smart slightly mysterious beauty. Nature loving. And I think it goes great with your sibset.
