Hello baby name gurus!

I am brainstorming names for the next one, and I loooooooove Arabella. We would probably call her Bella. I have two potential issues with this. 1) is Arabella just to out there and fussy? 2) Bella is sooooo popular right now.

I seem to like really fussy and or feminine girl's names, don't ask me why. Elizabeth, Arabella, Anastasia, Madeline, Ava. I also LOVE the nn Sam for a girl, but don't like Samantha, same with Charlie but not totally sure about Charlotte.

Also, I am sending up a prayer I find a boy name my husband likes better than Aaron.

I like Arabella, if you want to make it a little less frilly you could just go with Arabelle.

LOVE Arabella... I'm the same way, I tend to like ultra-feminine girl names. Here are a few others I love:

Antonia
Natalia
Liliana
Eliana
Samarra
Emmeline
Francesca

It is OK - I think it sounds like you just threw ara in front of Bella... Which you sorta did. If you are wanting a unique name, then use it! I sure havn't met/seen anyone who has named their child that. I wouldn't say it is too "out there" either. I have seen way worse that were actually "out there". Plus, Bella is a pretty cute nick name

Arabella's actually been around since at least the 1600s. I think the first time I ever heard it was in the movie the Prince and Me - isn't it his little sister's name? I can't remember.

There is an Aribella here in one of our playgroups and I know at least a dozen Arabellas online. It was in the top 500 names the last few years. I am not worried about it being too rare.

I don't like "unique" names - that is the problem! Hence my Elizabeth! Lol.

I love it! It goes really well with Elizabeth. I also really like Charlotte, Anastasia and Ava. I am a fan of feminine names for girls and masculine for boys.

I'm the same way! And, I love Sam and Charlie but not Samantha and Charlotte so much.

I love Arabella! I don't think it's too "out there" at all. It's an older name making a comeback. Actually, I like all the -bella names.

Um, or what about Aurora? It's not as easy to say as Arabella though.

I love the nn Rory for Aurora! As for Arabella, I disagree with the pp who thought it was an "out there" kind of made up name. I think of it as classic old fashioned (in a good way!)

Me tooooooo!

I worry that it doesn't sound good with our last name though. Aurora Krueger. Do you think with the right mn to buffer that it could work? I mean, there's nothing that will pretty up Krueger, but still....

Please don't quote my last name, I'll probably edit later!

I must say, its not my cup of tea, but it goes very well with your daughters name. Elizabeth and Arabella would make a fabulous and very feminine sibset.

I think Arabella is a tiny bit easier to say with you ln than Aurora, but that both could work. I'd keep the mn a one syllable name if you go with Aurora.

Arabella, LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I also have an Elizabeth. Two great classic names. I find Aurora a little hard to say, but still very pretty.

If she is Araballa, it will be Arabella Jo.

No hatin'!!! It's my middle name and my aunt's middle name and comes from my grandma's first name, and I had a love/hate with it my whole childhood and now I love it.

But what to put for Aurora/Rory? Obviously "Jo" doesn't flow. At least I don't think so?

Aurora _____ Krueger? (And I agree, it would need to be monosyllabic.)
Any ideas?
