We are excited and want to pick the perfect name for our baby. We found out this week that we will be having a BOY.

We originally was set on Jack Edward for him. Jack is still staying after my step- dad, who has raised me as his own after my bio dad passed. Edward is after my bio dad who passed away when I was a baby. However, my husband through in Jack Richard. Richard is after his father who passed away a couple of years back. He honored his dad already. I don't mind honoring him again as this will be our last baby. I don't mind Richard but I am standoffish with the nicknames it could possiable have..

We are probably going to keep the middle name from friends/family a secret till he arrives..

So here is my question..

Which one do you like or think sounds better?

Jack Edward
Jack Richard

Any other names will be helpful as well.. I am not due til September, so I have alot of time but I am open to just about anything. Jack will be the first name and we are not budging with that.

These names can not be used due to being already in the family..

James, Paul, Michael,David

If you picked neither, please post what you might think sound great with Jack

I think if you're getting to honor your family with the first name, I'd use Richard to honor his. Plus, it is his middle name, so there wouldn't really be any nicknaming going on.

You know, I never thought of putting both middle names in there. I will throw that at him and see what his thoughts on that. I mean, his name would be really long, Jack Edward Richard McCrady/ Jack Richard Edward McCrady. Hehe.. Probably would stick to one middle name and not put hell on this child when he needs to write out his name, etc...

I know Jack Edward sounds the best but I would feel at ease with Jack Richard because as many said, it holds a significance to both family members.

He did honor his dad with his first son with using his dads middle name Paul but when he got excited to have another boy and really lit up with the name Richard being the middle name. I love Edward but I honestly rather have Jack over Edward because my step dad has raised me as his own since my bio dad passed away. I was really young when he passed, so I don't have that strong bond with the name Edward as I do with the name Jack..
