1) WDYT?

2) Ariadne Cassandra. Thoughts on this name? Last name sounds like Edison.

3) My name is Kassandra. Is it conceited to name my kid after myself? mostly I just like the name, and it starts with a C (making her initials spell ACE).

4) Weird match question: My husband's name is ANDRew, my name is KassANDRa, DS is Luke ANDRew and DD1 is Lauren AlexANDRia. All of us have "andr" somewhere in our names. If baby number 4's middle name is CassANDRa, will Heidi Nicole feel weird about it? She'll be the only one without an "andr" in her name. Number four is probably the last baby for me.

I really like the name Ariadne Cassandra. It's unique and I've never met anyone in real life named Ariadne. I also like that they're both Greek mythology names and they match up, that's pretty cool.

But no, I don't find it conceited that your names are differing versions of Cassandra. Men name children after themselves often with no problem, I don't see why women shouldn't.

I'm not sure it's a make it or break it that Heidi has a very different sounding middle name than the other three would. If you decided not to go with Cassandra as a middle name would you try and use an 'N-themed' middle name for Ariadne instead?

Heidi would be the special one, not the one left out, really. She gets to be all her own.

I like the name and think Cassandra is a nice middle name.

For the record, the "andr" coincidence wasn't done on purpose. I realized it like a year ago. But then, we didn't considered that Lauren Alexandria would have the same initials as Luke Andrew until we brought her home from the hospital, either. I guess we just weren't paying attention to such things at the time.

But now that I've noticed these patterns, I can't seem to ignore them! I will probably steer away from an "andr" middle name, just like I'm steering away from L names (I don't want three Ls and an H). I'm not avoiding H names though, because then I'd have pairs.

Man, I'm way too OCD to name babies.

I'm OCD a bit like that too.

Well, you mentioned before you liked the name Hermione. You could go with Hermione and then use an N middle name, then there would be pairs!

But is there any "N" type of middle names you've considered? If you wanted to use the Greek theme with that you could use:

Natassa
Nerine
Nyx

1) WDYT? I really like the name Cassandra.

2) Ariadne Cassandra. Thoughts on this name? Last name sounds like Edison. I don't know. I kind of think 4-3-3 syllable full name is a mouthful. I'd personally go with a short mn with Ariadne "Edison" name.

3) My name is Kassandra. Is it conceited to name my kid after myself? mostly I just like the name, and it starts with a C (making her initials spell ACE). No, I don't think it's conceited to name a child after youself. Men do it all the time. Now, naming all your children after you, like George Foreman, yes, that is conceited. And, it's funny you bring that up because when I was naming Isabella, I had considered Annabelle/a. I went ahead and named her Isabella because I liked the name better and because I didn't want people to think I was naming her after me. But, now I almost wish I would have named her Annabelle because Belle was my mom's nn growing up, so she would have been named after her mom and grandma. Oh well.

Since the ANDR isn't in all the other's first names, I don't think it's too obvious to anyone. If Heidi ever noticed it, it probably wouldn't be until she was your age or older.

And, I know what you mean about not seeing patterns in your kids names until after they are named. My Dh specifically did not want a Tim Jr. because he thinks it's conceited to name a child after a parent. However, our children's first initials spell his name.

Luke, Lauren and Heidi are all fairly normal names, Ariadne is way too "out there" it just doesn't go. Also, the ANDR thing, I would NEVER have thought of that. So don't worry. Plus, if she was going to feel left out, it would be because the other children have the same initials.

I wouldn't worry too much about the ANDR thing... most people wouldn't realize it and I really don't see it as a big deal. Ariadne Cassandra is pretty but a bit long. And no, it's not conceded to name your baby after yourself, especially if its as a mn!
