Still going crazy here. I think, so far, it will be one of these. I'm taking more into consideration than just the name though. I do NOT want a common name. I fear that Adalyn will become common? It seems to be on this board anyway? It's also more traditional-sounding than my boys' names to me. I like Brynlee, but I fear that one is more trendy?? I lthink Aniyah matches the best and is very pretty, but I'm not sure I can get DH on board...UGH.. and then there are a few others.

Also, Isabelle and Belle are my grandmas' middle names. Could Brielle be a spin-off of those, if I pick a first name that will go well with it? The other middle names are not even close to being set if we chose the first name, but they are names that my DH likes...

Thank you!

I looked up some stuff for you. Here's the popular spellings of Adalyn, and where they ranked in 2010 on the U.S. List.

Adalyn Rank
2010 256
2009 373
2008 532
2007 881

Rose 625 points in 3 years. That's a pretty good size leap.

Adeline Rank
2010 322
2009 352
2008 362
2007 388
2006 467
2005 552
2004 588
2003 658
2002 689
2001 745
2000 805

Adelyn Rank
2010 385
2009 406
2008 586
2007 846

Number of Babies Born:
Adalyn - 1,261
Adelyn - 825
Adelynn - 458
Adalynn - 686
Adeline - 983
Total babies born in 2010: 4,213 This puts it at number 61ish on the SSA top 1000, excepting that other names would move around if you combined spellings as well. But it's in the top 100, which is fairly common, and it's moving up. I'm not sure it'll pass the likes of Ava and Olivia, but it's not impossible. Adalyn can also be seen as trendy, because there's a "lyn" trend going around these days.

As for Brynlee, it's definitely trendy (following the popular "lee" trend), but trendy isn't necessarily bad. The following was the number of babies born in 2010:
Brynlee - 583
Brinley - 441
Total: 1,024 makes it number 309 (tied with Phoebe).
So it's not nearly as popular as Adalyn, but stands its ground.

Hope this was helpful! (I voted for Brynlee)

Ambraya/Abria/Ambria all sound made up to me, not that that's necessarily BAD.. all names were made up at some point, after all. I like Amber, Ember, Cambria, and Ambra a lot better though.

Avalyn also sounds trendy and made up - not a fan.

Aniyah is fine, not overly popular, not trendy. It's not my style, but I'm not naming the baby.

I really like Brielle, but I think it's a stretch to identify it with Belle/Isabell, but if that's the way you want to do it, then do it. I intended to use Selena to honor someone named Helen.

I like the middle name Morgan, but I just like the name. Prefer it on boys though.

There, I think I covered everything!

WOW.. so impressed! Thank you loads for breaking it down like that. I also did have it in mind that the social security goes by spelling, and that is would be more popular than what it showed, since there are sooo many ways to spell it!

I thank you, but think I'm back at square one again! HA! This poor baby!!! I loved hearing your thoughts though

Adalyn is already popular, I personally know a few here in my small town. Brinlee is also getting there, I have one, DD's first grade teacher has one, there is another a couple grade above her. While I love both names, I don't think either are going to fit into your uncommon category.

What about Annika, Ayla, Kaia, Ariel/Arielle, Kiana, Alexis, Keira or Anja?

I don't like Aniyah, which to me is similar to Latoya, Keesha and Quanisha which are NMS.

Brynlee is the epitome of trendy. It's the equivalent of the parachute pants, big hair and rat tails of the 80s. I think people will look back when your child is in her 20s and say WTH were we thinking??

Ambria seems like its trying too hard and/or missing something. I like Cambria better. I like Calista even more.

Avalyn is ok. I prefer Adeline.

GL!

I love Adelyn and when I named my daughter that I got a lot of comments like "what?" "that's weird" "never heard of that" but now it seems like it's getting common.

I think Brynlee would be cute with your other kids names.

I voted Adalyn Brielle, because thats my favourite. I like someones suggestion of Brielle Morgan. Unfortunately I don't think any of your names are uncommon, Aniyah is the same as Anya/Anja I'm guessing, just spelt differently.

The least common I would guess is Ambria from your list.

I really like Avalyn Brielle or someone's idea of Brielle Morgan. They're both really unique and go great with your sons' names.
