So my DH really likes the name Jameson instead of James. He rarely LOVES a name, he's more of the type to allow me to do what I want - the only names he was really into were Thomas, Eleanore and Sophia up til this point. I kinda like it too, though I must say I prefer James.

Anyways do you think Jameson is totally mismatched with the names John, Michael, Sean, Patrick and Thomas?

I think that James matches BETTER, because then all the names are classic, traditional names. But Jameson isn't out in left field, nor is it a completely different style that the rest of the names. I think it would work just fine.

Is it going to be the first name? I prefer James over Jameson, but I like Jameson too. If I were in your situation, I wouldn't object to using it over James.

You could always put Jameson on the birth certificate and then call him James as if it is a nickname.

I think James matches better but it could work. I agree with above, you call him James but his full name would be Jameson.

I really like Jameson as it's different but agree that it doesn't match well. But, you could as use James as the nn.

I think James matches better, BUT I have to say I absolutely love the name Jameson, and I think if I had a boy he'd be Jameson. Jameson can always be called James anyway...
