I'm still pretty early along but I'm one of those people that likes to be prepared. I'd like to have a list ready before I even know what it is, that way I don't have to rush to think of names.

Anyway, for a girl I'm giving her the middle name KaylaMarie after my best friend that passed away 3 years ago. I like having names that go with the middle name. My choices for the girl is easy:

Mykelti
Verity
Piper
Brielle (a?) (Not sure about this one, apparently it means Cheese. I had a dream that I had a girl and this was her name)

ETA: forgot a few I'm sure the list will get longer...
Harlow
Kordeliah
Illyriah

Now I'm at a LOSS for boy names. As you can tell by my list of girl names. I like unique-but not crazy names. I just think ALL boy names are too common or just icky. the first name has to go with Charles which will be his middle name. So far I have:
Marrec (Marrek)
Maddix (like this one the best)
Knox (like it a lot but not really a fan of one syllable names)
Gage (not sure ^^)
Onyx (the father's mother's maiden name was Stone- I thought it would be kind of neat)
Kieran (this ones really iffy)
Rowan (like not love)
Sawyer (reminds me of a band)

Idk any other suggestions would be great. The only one the bf has agreed to is Marrec (Marrek). I don't really like how it sounds with Charles....

Thanks!

Based off of your list of names, how about:

Pippa (instead of Piper? I think it's more feminine and less popular.)

Bronson
Cash
Cruse
Enzo
Orion
Phoenix
Vaughn

I like Onyx, by the way! I don't think I've seen it before.

both the boyfriend and I LOVE the name Piper. But unfortunately, our dog came from the shelter with the name Piper and we kept it. I just kind of have an issue with naming my daughter the same name as my dog. But I put it up because we both love it. The boyfriend LOVES Pippa but I refused because it is Kate Middleton's sister's name. He has a crush on her. no! haha

I like Vaughn, but I doubt he would go for it. "Sounds too much like a video game character."

Thanks for Onyx! I like it but it's so different, I'm not sure. Keeps reminding me of something I would name one of my animals. But I DO like it....hmmmmmm?

WHY is naming babies so difficult?

Hey RandE, I mostly chill out at the WTTC board but occasionally browse here from time to time. I know someone with the name Maddox so I think that one is great and haven't heard of Onyx but love that too!

BUT most importantly... can I just say... Illyriah? Do I perhaps sense another Angel/Buffy/Joss Whedon fan?

If so (or if not, I guess, too!), I love the name too and was looking for similar ones... have you come across Illythia yet? (pronounced Ill-ith-ee-ah) There are many different spellings of it. I love it because it sounds like Illyriah and it has cool nicknames, like Illy, Lithy, or Thea.. just a thought!

Thank you for all the suggestion! Yes, I am a HHUUGGEEE Angel fan (not Buffy, Sarah Michelle Geller annoys me lol!) That's where I fell in love with the names Illyriah and Cordelia. I had a heck of a time convince my dearest boy that Illyriah was not from Angel (he's not a fan). But he seems to like it O.K. says it reminds him of a sleep-aid drug. lol

Last night he made his preliminary picks and chose:
girl:
Harlow
Illyriah

boy:
Knoxx (he likes two X's on it)
Maddix
Marrek

Now just to convince him to add another name to 'Charles' so that it flows nicer. Knoxx Charles seems a little too short to me. Now, Knoxx Vincent Charles on the other hand.....

I'm gonna throw some names at you and see if you like any, but first I'm gonna second Ilythia. LOVE it. Even before Spartacus.
**I'm not sure who thinks that Brielle means cheese? There's a cheese called Brie, but.. I was always under the impression that Brielle was a derivative of Gabrielle. **Also, I really dislike the sound of MyKelti KaylaMarie. Too much Mmkk.
**Love Onyx.

Hee hee... good to see another fan! Although, totally think you should give Buffy another chance. Just sayin'... it's what started it all!

And did you know Marrek was Buffy's first watcher, in the old Buffy movie?

KUP on what names you end up with.
