It's very much a unisex name to me, so I can't say boy or girl. I prefer the spellying Peyton.

I prefer it for a boy, as I had a neighbour named Payton and he was ALL boy. But I'm seeing it more and more on girls so I guess it's unisex now, I'm just not hugely into the unisex name thing but on somebody else's kid it's cute.

I like Peyton. On the DDC I was on had I named Scarlett Peyton she would have been the 5th Peyton, 4 girls one boy. I prefer it for girls, however it again falls under stealing boy names for girls rule and thus I recommend leaving it for boys.

I prefer Payton for a boy. I'm not a huge fan of unisex names for girls. I've considered it before, but I've decided against it, for me anyway. lol

It's a unisex name, but if you pick it for a girl make sure to give her a feminine middle name. My cousin named her daughter Peyton Jameson and everyone thinks she's a boy. I can imagine she'll get teased a lot in school.

It's unisex, but for a boy I prefer Payton. Of course I'm biased because that's MY son's name I have seen a mixture of both over the years in his classes(he's 11, almost 12)

It's unisex, so I see it as Peyton for a boy and Payton for a girl.

I like it on both. I like Peyton for a girl and Payton on a boy.

Peyton is number 51 for girls on the SSA list for 2010, and Payton is number 79 (also for girls). To me this suggests that it belongs to the girls entirely, but that's just me. I don't care for it either way, and I'm never sure how to pronounce it - "pay-ten" or "payt-n" and that's a turn off as well. Neither spelling seems masculine to me.

It can be both, in my opinion. But I've met both a girl and boy Peyton so maybe that has made it to where I can easily imagine it on both genders (not to mention Peyton Manning). However, if I were to ever name my child that (which I wouldn't because I have a cousin named Payton - a girl) I would name a daughter that, not a son. But I prefer traditionally male names for boys rather than unisex.

ETA: I prefer the spelling Peyton.

I think it is very unisex... but because the peytons I know are girls, i do tend to think of it more for a girl

I prefer it spelled Peyton, and even though I prefer boys names on boys I can see it on a girl or a boy.
