It's pretty! I'm not a huge fan of the double A, I would spell it Alina.

I love it! I am a huge "A" name fan, myself. I also agree that the too A's seem a little much though. I think it will create more confusion when people pronounce it. However, I do think it is a lovely name!

It's NMS, but I would like it better without the double a.

I'm assuming the double A leads to pronunciation.. so it's A as in Ava instead of A as in Aleah? A-leen-a rather than uh-leen-a? If that's the case then I like the double A. if that's not the case, and it's pronounced uh-leen-uh, then I'm not a fan of the double A.

Either way, the name itself is fine, though not something I'd add to my own list.

The double-A is the traditional Basque spelling. My DH is half-Irish, half-Basque and he has a great-aunt named Aalina so we were going off of that.

Well, the double-A is how it's spelled in Basque and it's his great-Aunt's name so it looks incomplete spelled Alina to me. Not to mention it would be spelled incorrectly.

Well you should for sure keep the original spelling if you're naming her after a family member!

Congrats on keeping family names alive! I hate my family names! lol

LOL, we tend to like family names a lot. Luckily I have some good ones. But one of his most prevalent ones is Ferdinand and I had to draw the line at that. I can't see it on a small kid at all!

LOL, actually his Great Grandpa and great Uncle are both nicknamed Ferdy. But we had to draw the line somewhere and I think that was it for me. His Grandma does have fond tales of calling her brother Ferd the Turd though. (Seriously).

I think it is really beautiful! I also think it looks best spelled with the Aalina. I like it so much I may steal it if me have BG. I hope that's ok.

My GM name was Siiri which is the traditional Finnish spelling. When I see it spelled Siri it seems off.
