I've been thinking of some place names that might work as first names, even though they're not especially common. I wonder what you all think of each of these (i.e. how 'usable' they are), and also which gender you think they would work better for:
Thank you to the SSMC makers for my beautiful siggies!
Monroe - I think of Marilyn Monroe, rather than an actual place. I don't like it on a girl, because of the "sex symbol" imagery, and I don't like it on a boy for the same reason, but if I had to choose I'd say girl. Niagara - It's pretty. Kentucky - Can't do it. A dog, or a horse maybe.. not a kid. Indiana - I really like this. I would think boy or girl.. I can't decide! Britain - It's cute. I feel like it's a more "grown-up" version of Brittany. Girl. Nile - Niles is a boy's name, but I can't see Nile as being anything. Jersey - I think this is better on girls, but I don't personally like it on either. Prussia - Girl, definitely, but I'm not a fan. Dublin - Cute, probably a girl. Everest - Boy, because it's close to Everett. I like it. Egypt - Girl, because when I think of Egypt I think of Alexandria and Cleopatra - girl names. I like it a lot, and I think Gypsy is a cute name (yeah, Kes liking a nickname.. it IS rather chilly today...).
