We have a couple mn options (no idea on a first name, though...) and one of them is a combination of my grandmother, Mary, and MIL's middle name: Elaine.
I've thought about Marlaine/Marlane (eh, it's ok) and Marilane (I like, but it may not go with many of our first name options).
Are there any other options? It's tough combining names to honor 2 people, but I think if I can, DH may go for a first name better

I like Marlaine for a mn, spelling and all! It SEEMS classic, but is very unique at the same time!
These might be cheesy, but I will just write down a few that come to mind:
Emary/Emory
Elmry
Malainey
And that's all I got

Thanks, girls... There's a few names on here I had never considered, so I appreciate it!
I also thought Jolaine (for Josephine, Gram's mn and Elaine, MIL's mn) so, that's a possibility.
I just have to see what rolls off the tongue best

Why not just use two middle names - Mary Elaine?

It's a great idea, but I'm really not fond of 2 mn's, so it's combine or use one We'll see what DH says. Usually, mn's seem to be something we both quickly agree to...

I really like Marlaine! My grandma's name is Marlene, and I always thought it sounded so classy. Marlaine is beautiful, and not too much of a stretch.

I do like Marlaine best from your list...it honors them more clearly. BUT you could truly honor them both by using a double middle name (esp if this is your last child).
ideas -
Keely Marlaine
Kaia/Kaiya Marlaine
Kennedy Marlaine

Thanks, ladies... I think there are some good ideas here! We're working on it.
Names have been the bane of my existence since I was 12 weeks along and the tech told me she was 80% sure it was a girl. We just can't agree on a girl name.
Maybe..... I'm hoping by 30 weeks we'll have some solid contenders and these mn's help!
