What are your thoughts on Kassidy/Cassidy?

Do you know many girls with this name? What kind of little girl (and woman) does this present in your mind?

It was on our short list (#2 of 3) for DD, and I had it at tops again for this one, but DH nixed it for some stupid reason at the very beginning, but now that we've gone another 14 weeks with NO AGREEMENT and he's nixed about every name I've presented (and vice versa, and there have literally been hundreds of names), we may be bringing this back to the table (well, I will bring it back and hope he has new insight).

I like names that aren't overly common, nothing in the top 100 for like EVER, and comes from Irish/Welsh/Gaelic/English... origin. We're looking at K names, thus the spelling variant.

Thoughts on this one?

lurking over here but wanted to share that i have a 'niece' of sorts who spells hers as 'kassity'. not sure if that helps you or not. she is about 9 years old, cute as a button and wins dance competitions right and left. she is very smart in school too.

I knew one girl in HS named Cassidy and she's the only one I've ever met with that name. Very pretty and not overly used IMO.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid-that's my first thought. I much prefer this name for boys (nn Cass) and ALWAYS spelled with a C. However my friend suggested it to me when I was preggo with my daughter and I did come up with a combo I really liked for a girl, Cassidy Lynn. Still prefer it for boys but thanks to my friend would consider that combo for a future daughter. We went with a different name though. I've never know anyone with the name but there was a Star Trek character, female, named Kasidy Yates (awful spelling) on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
