ok so im starting way early on the name thing because me and the father have some specific i dont wants that kind of are eliminating everything we come up with even though we dont know the sex yet

so daddy doesnt want any names that

sound like a stripper (which apparently to him includes anything that ends in y)
so no gems flowers cars or names like candy brandie or sky or arura

no names that are easy for kids to make fun of
hope = no hope 4 you
chris = sissy chrissy
kelly = smelly kelly
ect

no "old people names"
ursalu, abraham, richard ect

and for me i dont want

highly common names
like josh ashley michael chris ect

hard to spell names
first of all i cant even spell i dont want to put my kid through trying to learn amberalasia or christianna ect and secondly its like 16 years of correcting there teacher during roll call because no one can pronounce it

so basically everything we come up with gets vetoed by one of us
even the ones that have actually made the list still have i dont really want it because...... we just eventually decided we had to write something down.

jackson- MJ just kinda ruined it
corbin- sounds like we named are kid after a rock star
tristan- sounds wierd

jessie- apparently its a guys name

Im not even sure where to go from here is there just like a perfect name for each person that we havent stumbled on yet or are we being crazy i mean there is no way every name weve thought of so far is a bad name there is millions of people with this name heck even both of our names or on the terrible thing to name your kid list and iv never even not liked my name.

is there some sort of way to do the naming thing or does it just like come to you or do people just eventually settle on 1?

can any of you think of anything that would meet all of our weird criteria?

I think your DH needs to get over the name calling thing. Smelly Kelly? Give me a break. Any kid with a little backbone can handle that.

I wouldn't sweat it too much since once the baby is here, he/she WILL be named one way or another. Having a list of acceptable options is always good though. Good luck

Most every name can be made fun of in one fashion or another, so it's best to just pick one you like, irregardless of what other kids might say.

DH and I had issues coming up with a name for our youngest, and found ourselves bickering about it a lot, so what we did was start up a Word document with three columns for each gender

Ash's suggestions
Yes


Any name I came up with that I liked I put in Cybele's suggestions, and any name that Ash liked he put in Ash's suggestions. Every now and then we would open up the file, and any named in the Ash's suggestions column I had the choice to either delete if I didnt like it, or move to the YES! column if I did, and Ash did the same to my list.

We had one rule, we werent allowed to discuss any name that had been deleted.

It worked so well, we must have put up about 100 names on there, and in the end we had only 3 boys names and 6 girls names, but quality vs quantity, as they were all names we both loved.

I definetly recommend this method if the two of you cannot agree on a name.
