I visited an old cemetery this past weekend and saw this name on the headstone of a woman who died in the 1800's. Do you think that Christian can work as a female name? Or is it male only?

Personally I don't like Christian as much for a girl just because I don't like the nickname "Chris" for a girl...but otherwise I think it's okay.

It's NMS for either gender.

I usually like it when names for girls can be shortened to "boys" names. But this one is not my favorite.

I've seen it on a girl. I don't think it works, though. I'd be tempted to transpose the last two letters.

I like it on a boy except for that whole meaning of the word ;0

I know a female Christian. personally, I think the name is too "soft" to be a boy's name anyway. So, if you like it, I say Go For It!
