What are those names that you adore but you can't use them?

I LOVE Nicholas, but it's out bc our last name would sound ridiculously close to "Nicaragua." Thats the big one...still upset about it!

I've always loved the name Wesley, but my ex directly before my husband was named that... Which wouldn't be so bad, except my husband knew him and he's pretty heavily veto'd that one.

For me Gabriel is on that list...I used to want to name my first-born son that but I vetoed it because DH hates it and the other name I'm stuck on is Sullivan. Always loved the name but that was the name of my ex fiance so we can't use it.

I wanted to name my daughter Katherine and call her Kate but since my sister's name is Caitlin (and every calls her Catie), it would be too close. If my sister was older then it wouldn't bother me, but my sister is nearly 2 decades younger than me and thus around my daughter's age.

Jace has really grown on me. There's a little boy who's name is Jace in my class. And he's a sweetheart.

I love the name John, but it seriously does not go with our last name at all. Our last name is a hyphenated French name and the first part of it is the French translation of John.

Elizabeth, Claire, Grace, and Jude have all been used by friends or family.
I like Amanda but DH dated like 2 or 3 Amandas at doesn't want to use it.
I love Wyatt, Stella, and Meredith but DH has vetoed them all.
Our last name starts with an "L" and most L first names sound funny with it.

Holden because the last name would be Hayden and that is way too similar for me. And SO vetoed Cooper and Adelyn.

My DH's maternal grandmother is one of the most wonderful women I've ever met. Her name is Lucille, and I love the idea of naming a daughter after her. Problem is, the first syllable of our last name is "Lue" (rhymes with blue).
When you say it, you hear "Lucy Liu". ...Can't do it. haha
And "Lue" really ruins lots of possibilities bc of rhyming!

We both love Eleanor but the baby's last name would be Mortimore so it rhymes not once but twice!
Alanna, Mara, Names we used in our stories.
Vaughn, Vaughn Mortimore... no just sounds like his firat name is a prefix of the last name.

Jude because DH is convinced it's a NN for Judas (...it's not!)
Paisley because our last name is way too similar (P....y)
Channing because it's just too opposite/different from DS' name.
