My Mom works in a hotel and I work nearby so sometimes I stop in for lunch and I've met the maids from Hawaii and they all have unusual names. Just wanted to know what other people think.
Wilma - Not too unusual, except for this is the first lady I've known outside The Flintstones with this name
Susantha - Susan and Samantha?
Allentina - I'm guessing her parents' names were Allen and Tina.
Emijia - Pronounced Ee-mee-zee-a. I would kind of like this one if it were pronounced Ee-mee-jha.
Dremina - Not sure where to start with this one...
I feel like I can picture exactly what each of these women looks like. I worked as a nanny for a long time and on the playground anytime I met these cute little Filipina nannies who had names that were similar! (I actually found out that some of them had changed their names to sound more 'american' when they moved here, but others had been given these names) I wouldn't ever use any of them for my own children, but I think it goes to show what 'styles' are popular in other parts of the country/world!
