We are pretty sure we will name son #2 Zachary Thomas (Zach). DS #1 is Mason James. Mason wasn't super popular or common when we named our first son, but thanks to some Kardashian, it is now #2 on the most popular boys names list. While I'm not super anal about having a unique name (particularly b/c many names start out "unique" and then become super popular), I'd also prefer not to have my child be one of several with the same name in their classrooms. Zachary is not super common in my area or circle of aquaintances IRL. I personally know one who is 15 and one who is 3 who live around here. However, in my son's PR there are 3 or 4 Zachs (some are the younger siblings of the children my son's age but I still hear the name mentioned a lot so I feel like I hear it all the time).

I've liked the name since I was in junior high, so I doubt I will stop anytime soon...but I'm open to other suggestions if anyone has any. Middle name will definitely be Thomas after FIL.

No, I don't think Zachary is super popular for new babies. All the Zachary's I know are for 20. I like Zachary with Mason too!

I think those who going to name their babies Zachary/Zac are still about 14 so I think it will blossum in 2 to 5 years which should give your Zach a nice openning of not to popular.

I don't feel that Zachary has ever been super-duper popular. I think you should go for it.
