The name Fable has been stuck in my head for the last few days and even though I'm sure I'd never be brave enough to use it I was curious what you all thought? I figured, if Story can be a name, why not Fable? WDYT?
Dictionary.com defines fable as...
1. a short tale to teach a moral lesson, often with animals or inanimate objects as characters; apologue: the fable of the tortoise and the hare; Aesop's fables.
2. a story not founded on fact: This biography is largely a self-laudatory fable.
3. a story about supernatural or extraordinary persons or incidents; legend: the fables of gods and heroes.
4. legends or myths collectively: the heroes of Greek fable.
5. an untruth; falsehood: This boast of a cure is a medical fable.
I think it would work its better then some of the non-conventionals iv herd. honestly to me I think Id have a harder time finding a name to pair it with then convincing myself it is useable.
something like Fable Rayne/Storm would be to much IMO
while Fable Ann/Tom just doesn't flow
I really like Fable. EVERYONE I mentioned it too thought it was a terrible name. It makes me sad, but I don't think it's usable. At least in my area. Plus my last name sounds like Noise, so any word name is kind of out. River Noise, Forrest Noise, June Noise, Blair Noise, Fable Noise lol. It excludes a lot of names.
Also, when I say it out loud sometimes it sounds like "feeble"

In my family Storey is a family name it came from a sir name, My great grandfather's name was Mark Storey Simpson.
So since Fable doesn't have that kind of history it is mearly a transfer word to name it doesn't have that staying power. IMO my kids are not going to have the right Je ne sais quoi to carry a name like Fable. However the right child the right personality it could be epically cool.
