Have you ever liked a nickname associated with a given name better than actual name itself?

Yes, my daughters name LOL. I named her Elliana just so we can call her Ellie. I didn't want the full name to just be Ellie and DH and I couldn't agree on anything else besides Elliana!

yes
I like my daughters NN as well as her real name.
We call her Kennin. People stop us all the time to tell us what a beautiful name Kennin is. I really like it but love her real name too.

This is totally me.

I love Charlie way more than Charles. I adore Eddie but think Edward's just alright. I love Robbie/Bobby but Robert's just meh. I love Beadie but I'm not a huge fan of Brigid.

I like the NN Leo but don't like any of the full names it could go with, but it doesn't feel like a full name to me alone.

I feel that way about Leo also.

I have a friend who's son is called Leo but his given name is Yalil, he's named after his father. But he's always been called Leo.

I like Arie a tad more than I like Ariella, but I never would have named DD just Arie.

I love the name Eli, but I'm not fond of anything that it's short for.

we have a Vander, and call him Van.. i love the nickname Van, but not sure i love it MORE than his actual name.. probably love it the same.

but i def like some nicknames more than the actual names.. like Z/Xander for Alexander..

things i don't understand is why people give their kids names, yet call them by their middle names only (unless it's a namesake makes sense, especially if the one they are naming after is still alive).. but just because doesn't make sense to me lol
