Our last name starts with a vowel which means most names, especially girls need to end with harder sounds like an N. Otherwise you get name smush

But do names like Jameson Sebastian or Jameson Roman not flow well due to BOTH ending in the same letter (n)?

I was thinking about you the other day!!! 17 weeks, wow!

I am not usually a fan of names (first/middle) ending in the same sound, but I think first name ending with a vowel and last name starting with a vowel can sound ok. With Jameson Sebastian, the repetitive s sounds are what is giving me a hard time. I think Jameson Roman sounds good though.

Most of the middles I like are either complex with multiple syllables (Abraham. Or ending in a repetitive sound. Bah.

I KNOW 17 weeks is insane!!!!

I like Jameson Roman but Jameson Sebastian seems like a little too much in my opinion. I think it depends on the 'n' ending whether it sounds good or not.

I totally agree, I just have a soft spot for Sebastian! Dh gets first name choice for a boy, so I need to pick a good match. I love my choice for a girl so its an even trade. I cant find a good match though for a boy middle

Is there a particular type of name you're looking for as a middle name for the boy? I think Jameson would be great paired with an Irish/Scottish name. Personally, Jameson is on my list and the middle name we chose was Brody (it's my brother's name).

And..just being nosy but what's your girl's pick?

Rhiannon for a girl (no idea on middle though). My old fave for a boy was Ciaran but its still the n-n endings

Oh sad that he vetoed it!

I'm also liking Xavier. Out of that list, I see some I like but not love or have been voted down by dh

I actually really like Jameson Sebastian!

To me the 'n' is softer in Sebastion compared to Roman.

I ADORE Saoirse, but dh gets middle name pick for a girl and he prob wont pick that. He can spell it but its hard for him to say with our last name. It rhymes with mashmock. So Saoirse with that shh sound combined with that shhh sound in the last name is a name mush

I love Jameson Roman I guess b/c it's shorter it flows better. The 3 syllables and same ending of Jameson Sebastian kind of throws me off.

I like Jameson Roman. I think what makes a name not flow as well has more to do with the amount of syllables. The 3 syllables of "Jameson" works better with the 2 of "Roman". That's how I see it anyway. I like both though. Jameson is a fave of mine, but hubby veto'd it. hehe

I wanted to add that you have great taste! Roman is what we will name our next boy and it was hard to find a middle name that doesn't end in "n". I think just seem to like most names that end in "n" as well which made it even more difficult.
