Here's the list for anyone that just wants to glance through quickly....

Clover
Calla
Gray
Zephyr
Lux
Florence
Lazarus
Waverly
Marguerite
Indigo
Bellamy
Coralie
Nero
Stellan
Cyra
Breccan
Tiberius
Snow
Balthzar
Cato

I don't see many of those getting very popular...Balthazar??
I do love Gray (used it as a second mn for my dd), Bellamy and Stellan.
I can see Breccan and Cato rising in popularity. They fit in well with today's trends. Calla as well but it really doesn't seem that new to me. I've heard it alot and know a Calla. Was kinda shocked it wasn't in the top 1000 somewhere.

Some make complete sense

Florence and the Machine
Stellan Skarsard is Alexander Skarsgards father, and rhymes with Kellan which had a popular run for a while
Cato- Hunger Games, same with names like Clover, Lux, Zephyr and of course Snow
Christian Gray from 50 Shades
Bellamy is Matthew Bellamy from Muse

Zephyr is the "new Phoenix" to me
Breccan is the new Brendan
Stellan is the new Kellan
Clover and Calla to replace recently popular Juniper and old goodies like Lily, Rose, Ivy
Indigo maybe to even be like Blue Ivy? Not shocked to see it up there since Gray made the list

Cato is from the Hunger Games. Grey from 50 Shades of Grey. A lot of these have social media influences....perhaps even all?

I agree with your logic, Lash. While I agree that Balthazar seems out of place (along with Lazarus... I just don't see that getting popular)... some of them make total sense.

The ones I see skyrocketing are Stellan, Coralie, and Gray/Grey.

My preschool "boyfriend" was named Gray, lol.

Clover - I think Clover has always been on the underside of popular nature names. I've heard it before (not IRL), but I think it fits on trend with many cute nature names that have come to be more popular recently.

Calla - Same as Clover.

Gray - Uber popular book series name? Shocking.

Zephyr - Seems like a "cool" kid name, NRMS.

Lux - LOVE. On my long list.

Florence - Dislike, but on trend with Old-fashioned names.

Lazarus - Actually my surname, get lots of compliments on it. I've thought of using it in the past, especially since it will not be carried on since all of the men in my family had girls. If anything it might be/probably will be used as a MN...it just seems like kind of a big name for a kid.

Waverly - NMSAA.

Marguerite - Really, really NMSAA. Strongly dislike.

Indigo - On the long list, I think color names are always pretty cool.

Bellamy - NMSAA.

Coralie - Cutesy. NRMS.

Nero - Nope. Not even a little bit.

Stellan - LOOOOVE.

Cyra - Not even sure the pronunciation on this? Kie-rah? Sy-ra?

Breccan - Dislike.

Tiberius - As in James Tiberius Kirk from Star Trek? That names a little to hefty for me to see/use on a child.

Snow - Like, wouldn't use.

Balthzar - Another biblical surprise. NRMS.

Cato - Strongly dislike.

I agree with Lash!

The ones I could see getting popular are:
Calla
Gray
Florence
Stellan
Breccan

If you ever search through the old names on the SS website there were plenty of weird baby name trends through the years.

I like Coralie,Indigo, Gray Calla and Clover. Why one flower (Violet, Rose) is normal and another (Calla, Clover) odd is what confuses me about baby name trends. My daughter Sapphire is thought to have a strange name but Ruby is accepted.

I can definitely see media having an impact on those names, like Lash said.

The only ones I like are Zephyr, Florence and Marguerite.
