Okay girls. Help me out here. Looking to create a list of modern-sounding, one-syllable names, guys or girls! Nothing super-trendy, but unique is okay!

Try: http://tools.oxygen.com/babynamer/

Select Boy or Girl, Find Names, and then hit Search. I second list of restrictions comes up including number of syllables.

Faye is a pretty name - and its nice bc you don't heard it much anymore. June is also sweet sounding too, though - for me at least - it really brings a strong visual of a old woman on her porch sipping lemonade in the summertime I know, I know - weird of me

Bree is not super-popular, but a longer form is - Brianna. That's like, leading the pack, top 20, I would think!

Okay, I am not the greatest with picking one-syllable names because all of the ones we have picked are at least two or three for the most part. I liked a lot of the ones others suggested.

I would also suggest a website.... www.babynames.com They have a special Personalized Naming Service that will come up with a list of names directly from the staff of the site. This site also lists names, the gender(s) and where it comes from as well as its meaning.

Hope this helps....that is if you still need it.

Christina

I met someone the other day who's sons name was Jazz.
I really like it- its unusual, but manly and not too terribly trendy.

I have a neighbor named Chaz. I always thought that was different.

All the others listed were good too.
