My boy is due in about 2 1/2 months and we just can't settle on a name. What do you all think of the name Calvin? I admit, it is inspired by Calvin & Hobbes, so it's hard for me to be objective! I think I like it but I'm afraid it might be a little dorky? What do you guys think?? Middle name will be John so we could either call him CJ or Cal.

I love Calvin! Nothing dorky about it! It is a very strong boy's name with cowboy charm.

I don't think it sounds dorky at all. In fact, to me it sounds the opposite and quite strong

I think quite the opposite of dorky: strong and sophisticated, like Calvin Klein

It's not my personal style, but still cute on a kid and professional as an adult. I don't think it's dorky sounding at all, and it's cute that it's inspired by Calvin and Hobbes. And I mean, it's not like you picked "Hobbes". Plus, I think that CJ is a really cute nickname.

I love the name Calvin, it is on my list! Cal is a great nickname and the option of CJ is nice too.

LOVE it. It's at the top of my list, but DH doesn't love it like I do. It's classic but not common, masculine but not brutish... etc. I love it.
