I'm never one to share the name before the birth of my child, but for some reason I feel the need to this time.
I was on this board back when I was pregnant with my 1 year old.
So we are figuring on naming this baby due in march, Nadia.
Which goes along with her sibling names just fine.
Ranging from oldest to youngest (not all done on purpose because 2 of these are my stepkids)
karena
vanessa
elaina
melina
and soon to be, maybe- Nadia.
SO doesn't seem to be on board with the name 100% and honestly neither do I.
I'm actually in love with another name but he is against it, like I literally get a dirty look now if I try and bring it up.
The other top contendors were Larissa. I feel that is just to close to Vanessa though.
I'm really rethinking Selena though, thoughts?
One of my top things is I don't name my kids popular names, I like to stay off the top 200 board. My two stepkids have very nice names but they are more popular then what I am comfortable with.
SO likes names that are more traditional and natural and don't seem made up.
I have literally gone through 1500 names and probably read off around 300 to him and only 5 made a list he was willing to look at.
Johanna- to popular for my taste
Joanna- to popular for my taste
Larissa- To close to vanessa?
Lucinda- To old school, but love the nick name lucy.
I like Nadia. But of the ones you listed, here is my opinion:
Johanna- I love it and I don't think it's too popular. I don't know any Johannas.
Joanna- Not a fan, too old fashioned for my taste.
Larissa- It's ok - I don't think it's too close to Vanessa.
Lucinda- Not a fan. I love the name Lucy, but not Lucinda.

Ok now you have me rethinking the Johanna name. This name was SO's top choice.
Plus she would have Jo as her nickname or JJ because of last name.
What about:
Carissa
Clarissa
Katerina
Jacinda
Tabitha
Althea
Isadora
Callista
Thanks for all of these suggestions. I like Jacinda and Isadora out of them. We will see what SO says.
For some reason I just want to stay away from the C and K name's. Maybe just cause I don't want my kids to have similiar letters... (because of Karena) don't know.
hmm well maybe I will consider Callista. thats really cute too.
I like Nadia and I think it goes very well with your other kid's names. Are you guys eastern European? My BFF is named Nadia and she's black/Arab...and she says that she is confused as to why her parents chose a more traditional Russian name. hehe.
I like Nadia and think if goes well with your , but if you're not 100% I think it's grey to explore other options.
Out of all the names suggested here I think Selena is my favorite

I'm sorry!
SO loves the name, i'm just not a huge fan but I said it could go on the list if that makes you feel any better. I was considering it.
No offense taken. Lucinda is old school. My Lucinda was named after my grandmother (who would be 99 if she were alive) and my great-grandmother.
I even 2nd guessed myself when I was filling out her birth certificate. I'm so glad I went with it though because it fits her. It's not common at all. And I love Lucy as nn.
Anyway, I love Jacinda too. That's really pretty with a nn of Jaci.
