There seems to be a huge surge in people I know having babies. There seems to be an even bigger surge in unusual names. Some are very pretty and just not used often, others are well you can be judge I've included middle names where I know them.
Beckham
Garland Ray
Clash Roman
Cash Michael
Vince
Boss
Charlee Lynne
Cora June
Jaxx Monroe
Emiliana Jade

You can be ruthlessly honest, won't hurt my feelings. I personally love Cora. I think several of these are ridiculous. Jaxx Monroe?? Clash?? What the heck?!

Lol @ Boss. Somehow I don't see that becoming a self fulfilling prophecy.

Clash and Boss are the only ones I find...um...strange. The others I've heard before and there are a few I really like.

Clash and Boss are definitely odd. I love Cora June though!

Emiliana is on my list for girls but I probably won't use it b/c it's 5 syllables. But if I did we would call her Emme.

So...while I do like some of these they seem more like nicknames to me...
I have a Jax but his name is Jackson (and totally not for a girl!)...I have a Charlie but her name is Charlotte (oddly I don't get Emiliana, but Charlotte's middle name is Emilia pronounced like Amelia but named after DH's great grandparents Emil & Emilia)

Ruthlessly honest? Most of these names are terrible IMO. I'm from the UK and I cannot believe anyone would call their child Beckham. I like David Beckham (I mean who wouldn't ), but not for a first name. Cash, Clash, Garland and Boss are also pretty awful.
Cora is a nice name though

The only one that I don't like is Boss. Clash doesn't bother me to bad, I have a cousin named Crash.

One of my best friends is naming her son Cash and I love the name Cora!!! I have another friend who recently named her daughter Finley. I had never heard it before either. I am a huge fan of the unusual names

Cora is not weird at all. It is Greek and very prett IMO. I don't see what is weird about Vince either. It's NMS, but is a normal name.
I really don't like any of the others.

I didn't say they were weird. I stated in my original post that several people I know we're using unusual names. Some I find very strange, some are simply under used. Cora and Vince were the two I was saying are not heard very often anymore.

Ive seen a huge resurgence in the use of the name Cora lately. I personally love it as it was my great gmas name. I do like unusual names myself. I am rather confused by some of the older kind of grandparent style names being used....Arthur...Cornelius...Phineus....Maude...Be atrice. Being used lately. Theres timeless and then theres names that are just so awful you know the kids are gonna get picked on in school.
