DH insists he would want to name a child Avocado and call him Avo as a nn. But he is not a big enough hippie to actually do it. Lol

I like some names I would never use because they are too popular or trendy. Lila, Adela, Emma for girls in particular. I wish no one else knew about those names

I loooove the name Sullivan but it's the name of my ex-fiance. Also I love Finnegan, Daragan, Malachi, Abraham, Vincent, Gabriel, Solomon, Isaac, Robert. DH has vetoed all of those. I gotta think about the girl names...

Jezebel

Such a pretty name and actually means "pure" or something of that nature but there's that old old movie where the character named Jezebel was a harlot.

Olivia!!!!! I love it so much but it so popular!

A few others are: Aiden, Harper, Finley, and Molly - DH hates Aiden and the others are names some of my closest friends have already used

Aidan

It isn't the popularity that bothers me. My daughter's name is Emma. But my DH hates the name.

I also love Isabella, but hate the Twilight association now.

I think it is actually from the Bible. A queen of Israel who worshipped idols and promoted idolatry, if I remember correctly. Came to be used for a loose woman, later. It is also a feminist website! It does have a cool sound to it but yeah, not a name I would ever give a little girl.

Leo - DH would wants Leonidas and I that's just too heavy of a name for a kid for me to use. I know he'd call him this every chance but I do love Leo.

Channing - DH and I both love this name but everyone would associate it with Channing Tatum--whom I do admire

Paisley - Clashes really badly with our last name.

Ava - It has gotten way too popular but it's adorable!

I like Lavender but don't think I would ever use it.

For girls, I love Emma & Marilla, but neither goes well with our last name, and Marilla is a little too old fashioned for me. Olivia is a favorite, but DH's crazy ex-girlfriend is named that, so that's clearly a no go I also like Sarita & Amelia, but don't see myself using them.

For boys, I have this whole list of biblical names that I want to use - Reuben, Isaac, etc, but I don't think they will be used Henry, Peter, and Charles are also out. Our favorite boy name is not very common, but it looks like it might end up being the same first name as the dean of DHs school...and it's a very small school, so that would be really weird.

I'm sure there are more, but that's what I'm thinking of!

Daphne is one of my favorite names it DH is afraid of the nn Daffy. Coral is too close to my name and Magnolia and Tallulah both end in -a which we are trying to avoid this time around? All are beautiful names though

I love the name Gwenyth (nn Gwen) but that is my grandmother's name and I don't want to name my daughter after her lol

I also like River for a girl but DH doesn't like it and it doesn't really fit with our other children's traditional names.

I also LOVE the name Katherine (nn Kate) but my sister's name is Caitlin and she's much younger than me so she will grow up with my children (she's only a year older than my son). So I named my daughter's middle name Katherine
