We are naming our little boy Aaron. I am having a hard time saying the name without hearing Erin. DH has a 17 year old cousin named Erin, and she and her mother both agreed that it would be fine to use Aaron, since they are different names and they would have different last names.
Do you pronounce them the same? If you heard the name without seeing it written down, would you know if the person talking meant a boy or a girl? any tips on how I can get used to saying Aaron and not thinking Erin every time? DH's grandmother said the other day "can you believe Erin is 17?" and it took a second to realize she meant his cousin, and not our unborn child LOL

I say them exactly the same, but for some reason, they are very mentally different to me. I've never had an issue. I honestly think that if you use it, you'll get used to thinking the Aaron way
I say them differently... I say Aaron- Ah-ron And Erin- Ehr-IN. Ive never heard Aaron pronounced the same as Erin!

I say them the same. They are very different names to me, though. I really like 'Aaron' for a boy, but I'm not a huge fan of 'Erin' for a girl. I don't know why; I just don't like the spelling.
I've actually never heard them pronounced differently. So I say them exactly the same. Only Aaron being the boy spelling and Erin being the girl spelling!
