What are your thoughts on this name? My husband is of scandinavian decent, but like most of us do identifies as "Canadian".

We have our baby's name pretty much set, but I'd like to keep a back up, or have another name for possible use in the future.

The name he suggested recently and I really like is Ole. Pronounced Oh-lee, not like the nickname for Oliver.

I've seen it also spelled Olli, but DH wants to keep the original spelling although he said he'd be open to MAYBE adding another L Olle.

I see people constantly calling him Oh-Ley! (I have pictures of people dancing around sombreros lol)

But I had a less than common name and it got butchered all the time. I survived and am rather fond of it now!

What do ya think?

The name we LOVE for baby is Arthur, so even if we stick with that, what about as a sib set? 2 boys names Artie and Ole? or Arthur and Ole?

I think Arthur and Ole is an adorable sibset! I can see "Ole" getting mispronounced pretty much all the time, but heck, my name is "Allie" and new people I meet have ALWAYS called me "Ellie", especially when I was younger... um, it's an A. One familky even continued to call me that for months, maybe even longer. o_o So even straightforward, more common names can get butchered. hehe

I like Arthur but I can't really get on board with Ole. IDK. I guess it doesn't seem like a real full name, I get a nick name vibe from it. And at first I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be girl or boy

Love love love Arthur - not sure about Ole but I have never heard it and I often take time to get used to a new name
