We're not looking to settle on a single name for baby. We want to have a list on hand and see which name "fits" the baby when we see her. But we do want to narrow things down. We like all these names (though by all means feel free to quietly hate lol) but would love to know if any of these names stand out to you in a good way Thanks in advance!

a note on the middle names:
Lynne: this is a family name--my aunt's name, who was like a second mother to me, and also me and my sister's middle name, and also my cousin's middle name. We didn't use it with our first daughter, and kind of broke the tradition. I still feel a little bad about that. But it doesn't sound good with every name.

Elizabeth: this is a family name, too. It's both of my husband's grandmothers' middle name.

Isabelle: Is a family friend that has been more like a grandparent to our children than anyone else in our family. She has no grandchildren of her own.

Marie: My mom's middle name

We also don't care at ALL about names being "too common".

* * *

Abigail Elizabeth (a name we had picked out last pregnancy)
Ava Elizabeth
Gabrielle Lynne (I'd probably call her Brielle, which is a name I love, but my husband hates the name Brielle...)
Georgia Lynne
Hailey Isabelle
Hannah Elizabeth
Hadley Marie
Hazel Elizabeth
Madeleine Elizabeth
Pepper Lynne (my husband is convinced this WILL be the baby's name. Since he's thought of it he now doesn't like any other name he's suggest. *eye roll*)
Willow Marie

Hannah Elizabeth really stuck out for me, but thats only because it is my cousins name.

Pepper Lynne is really cute too. Ava is beautiful as well. I like Ava lynn, but it sounds a bit much like Evelyn.

Ava Elizabeth
Hadley Marie
Hazel Elizabeth
Pepper Lynne -- I can't quite get on board with Pepper as a formal given name but I love the idea of Penelope nicknamed 'Pepper'. It would be my number 1 choice it was an option.

That's a good idea of using Penelope as the formal name. I like the name Penelope and one of my concerns with the name Pepper was that I didn't think it was a good formal name. I'll run that idea by my husband

Thanks! We homeschool, so not sure how much we have to worry about teasing. Especially since where we live most kids have names you can't even pronounce But I don't think Pepper is a practical name and my husband is ADAMANT that we are naming this girl Pepper and that he will get his way. It's actually getting a big annoying at this point. Hadley was my number 1 choice for a long time but he hated it so I've considered other names. Lately I am leaning toward Ava, which is a name HE suggested, but now suddenly he doesn't like it because he only likes Pepper.

These are my favorites from your list:

Gabrielle Lynne
Hailey Isabelle
Hannah Elizabeth
Hadley Marie

Honestly, I'm not a fan of Pepper as a legal name. I think that it could be a really cute nickname, but I think it should be short for something else.

Thanks for the feedback ladies.

Husband still being a butt about the name Pepper. I've told him at this point it's pretty much a no-go, not that he's listening to me. I liked the name at first (never loved it) but the more I thought about it the more I didn't like it. As others said--cute for a nick name but not as a legal name. I feel the same way.

I like those names the best! Funny, my DH and I liked "Hailey Elizabeth" but we are leaning towards "Haylee Madelyn" now..not set in stone though. But we seem to have similar taste!

I actually think Pepper is cute, but on a resume? Not so much. I can't believe he's so adamant about the name but won't consider Penelope or something else that could be a formal name she could use if she chose later in life.

I also like Willow and Gabrielle Lynne.

I often find myself thinking "I can't believe him" in regards to my husband, too

Thanks for the feedback A lot of friends/family have been sharing the same thoughts re: Pepper.

I said the job thing to him a few weeks back and his response was: "I think it will help her get a job. Her name will stand out in the list of applications. People will call her in for an interview just to see who is this person named Pepper."
