What do you think of these two names, for twin boys [found out we're having twins!]

i like Hamish, but Emlyn to me is a little.. feminine?:/ i think it's the "y" at the end. they sound great together though.

Emlyn sounds like a girl's name to me. I like Hamish though.

I agree that Emlyn seems like a girls name but I have an Emmalyn so you can see why.

Hamish is masculine but nms.

Thanks for your replies. I don't see anything feminine about Emlyn!

What about Elwyn?

I definitely think Elwyn sounds more appropriate for a boy; and I like it too! I thought Emlyn would be for a girl.

Oh, Elwyn changes it for some reason... I don't see a girl with that at all, total boy for me!

I think Emlyn is more of a girl's name in the US. There are a lot of versions of Emma/Emily floating out there now & Emlyn sounds like one of them. I also think traditionally in the US yn is considered more feminine. I wouldn't see the boy's name Collin spelled Collyn here unless it was being used for a girl. Just a cultural difference.

I agree sounds like a girls name and the other one makes me hungry. When my daughter wants something with ham in it she say she wants hamish eggs or a hamish sandwich.
