I tried doing this, my best friend's name is Shawnna so I tried some variations with Shawnn. Unfortunately it just doesn't go well with most of the names I like.

If and when I have another daughter her middlename will be either Kristin or Kristin-Mary. My best friend died last August her name was Kristin Mary.

I personally wouldn't name my child after my best friend, especially not if I wasn't fond of their name anyway.

No, I wouldn't. This might seem negitive but I think what if something happened and you ended up no longer being friends? I know no one likes to think that and sometimes it seems impossible but it happens all the time even to people who think it will never happen with them.

I think about this all the time,, I definately would. Me and my best friend have been best friends since we were 4, she calls herself Aunt to Brody and her parents call themselves G-ma and G-pa to Brody... the only issues I have had with it is that I don't love her name,,,,,,, and I don't know if I could give my child a name i didn't really like to honour someone. Her name is Michelle Elizabeth.

I would do it if they were deceased, as a way to honor their memory...but pronbobly only as a middle name.
